NEWS: CREFLO DOLLAR SPEAKS AT THE PULPIT AFTER ARREST
Preacher Creflo Dollar has made the spotlight of recent not for his sermons but charges of 'domestic violence' against his daughter. Check out the video where he calmly addresses the church, following allegations that he punched and choked the 15 year old girl. He was arrested on Friday when she called 911 at 1am after an argument got out of hand because she 'couldn't go to a party'. A police report was filed and revealed that the girl told a deputy her dad had "got physical" which left her with "superficial injuries". The Mega Church Pastor tells his side of events in the video.
Speaking to the congregation at the World Changers Church International Creflo was greeted with cheers and a standing ovation. The father of five denies all allegations:
"The truth is a conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional and things escalated from there. The truth was that she was not choked, she was not punched. There were not any scratches on her neck but the only thing on her neck was a prior skin abrasion from eczema. Anything else is an exaggeration and sensationalism."
Despite the domestic issues Creflo stated: "All is well in the dollar household."
He also went on to say:
"Again I would never approach one of my children to intentionally inflict bodily harm. I love my children enough to establish proper boundaries and help the make proper choices."
According to the police report the girl told a deputy her dad charged at her, put his hands around her throat, began to punch her and started hitting her with his shoe.
This all sounds very messy indeed particularly for a high profile pastor.
The press is full of opinions for and against Creflo but in all honesty who knows really went down in they're household but them? The audience in the congregation is certainly supporting him. But where do we draw the line with discipline and our kids? Is it a culture thing where beats are standard and when does it become abuse?
Creflo's response in the video:
One thing that is particularly confusing is what business does a 15 year have at a party that time of the morning...
