NEWS: CHRISTIANS UNITE IN SILENCE FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
Release International have created a unique way to stand up and speak out for persecuted Christians around the world through a sponsored silence.
For the week beginning 25th of November, Release International will be holding the event in the UK and Ireland to raise funds for Christians persecuted that witness about their Christian faith. The charity is encouraging people to get their church, friends and family members involved to make a difference and support the charity's work dedicated to helping victims of persecution. The cause is fighting to help those whose lives are in danger like Asia Bibi, a Christian woman on death row in Pakistan for blasphemy. The charity is also asking Christians to remember Chinese Christian lawyer Gao Zhisheng, Iranian pastor Behnam Irani, 17-year-old Eva Abdullah from Tanzania and evangelist Mussie Ezaz. All these Christians have been subjected to some sort of torture, brutality and imprisonment. By keeping quiet for all or part of a day Release International seeks to raise awareness about the injustices to fellow Christians. As much as we all love a good old chat the silence challenge will make a massive impact that can help save the lives of those willing to save others with the good news.
